Executive Coaching

Transitioning to Mid-Level Leadership

Program Candidates

This program is for mid-level managers and directors who are progressing toward increased levels of leadership responsibility, representing a major transition from the previous role. It also is ideally suited to these same leaders who have responsibility for a major change initiative.

As leaders move towards increasingly complex leadership roles, new challenges require a new skill-set as well as an adaptation of existing skills. Our Executive Coach works with the individual to assess the specifics of the leadership role and assist with integration into new levels of leadership accountabilities. Beyond integration, the Coach will identify areas for development that will serve to increase the success of the leader.

Learning Objectives

The Executive Coach will work with a leader to accomplish the following objectives where relevant:

  • Identify and develop the leadership skills required to integrate into new levels of increasing scope and responsibility.

  • Balance a tactical managerial mindset with a strategic one.

  • Develop the skills needed to work across multiple functions.

  • Learn to manage conflict effectively by using influence tactics to increase the success when leading functional and cross-functional teams.

  • Set direction, build support and achieve commitment when championing change initiatives.

  • Learn to use your team effectively by managing through formal and informal lines of authority.

  • Use influence and teamwork rather than managing through hierarchy and formal lines of authority
