Program Facilitators
Ken Ainsworth
Ken has worked in the areas of organization
development, learning and coaching for over 20 years. He focuses his
consulting efforts on helping individuals and organizations pursue
coordinated, organized change through learning in three primary areas:
the design and facilitation of organization development retreats and
initiatives; the design, development and delivery of learning
interventions; and individual and team coaching.
Ken has held management positions with the Bank of
Montreal, Work Wear Corporation of Canada, and Ainsworth Investments and
established his consulting practice in 1989.
Ken holds a Master's degree in clinical
counselling psychology from the University of Ottawa, an MBA from York
University and is a Certified Management Consultant.
Randy Brooks
Randy Brooks is a founding partner of WilsonBrooks,
a consulting practice that focuses on teambuilding, leadership development,
organization design, change management and executive coaching.
Randy has worked inside large, complex corporations
as well as small firms, and has consulted to a broad array of clients in
industry, government and the arts both in Canada and the US. She has over
20 years experience leading change initiatives that reflect fundamental
shifts in strategy and culture, facilitating leadership development, coaching
executives, and helping teams to function more effectively.
Randy worked as an internal consultant for AT&T and
Salomon Brothers in the US for fifteen years and established an external
consulting practice in New Jersey before coming to Canada in 1996. Her Canadian
clients large and small corporations in manufacturing, broadcasting, the
arts, and government, as well as individual executives who receive private
coaching.
Randy is also an accomplished researcher. Driven by
a natural curiosity about what enables organizations and individuals to
be effective, she combines solid research with a flair for designing innovative
approaches that engage clients in learning how to best achieve results for
their organizations and for themselves as leaders. She is a former Research
Associate of the Conference Board of Canada. She has published major reports
for the Conference Board, authored numerous papers and briefings for individual
clients on topics related to organization effectiveness and change, and
she has presented at conferences in both Canada and the US.
Randy is a senior associate of the Niagara Institute.
She holds an honors undergraduate degree in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson
University and a Master of Science in Organizational Development from Pepperdine
University.
Maureen Brown
Maureen has worked and consulted in the area of human
resource management and development for over twenty-five years. For the
first ten years of her career, she provided leadership to human resource
functions in unionized and non-unionized environments, in both public and
private sector organizations. Her last corporate position was Director of
Employee Relations and Communications at American Express Canada.
Since 1990, she has managed an independent consulting
practice specializing in organization and human resource development. Her
consulting assignments range from the design and delivery of teamwork, change
management and leadership development training programmes, to ongoing facilitation/coaching
of executive and project teams. She has directed large-scale research and
development projects to help her clients understand the cultural workplace
dynamics critical to success in mergers, acquisitions and other dramatic
organizational changes.
Maureen's clients include Noranda Inc., Enbridge Consumers
Gas, the Bank of Montreal, Rogers AT&T and St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto.
She has considerable experience within the education sector and has consulted
to the University of Toronto, Ryerson University, Brock University, the
York and East York Boards of Education, St. Joseph's College and Humber
College.
She received her honours undergraduate degree in psychology
at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She then completed her master's
degree in Applied Social Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan. Maureen
is certified by ODR Inc. to deliver the Optimizing Change program.
Maureen is a competitive bagpiper, and an avid downhill
skier and cottager.
France Cloutier
France Cloutier is an organizational development
consultant who has been involved in internal and external consulting and
in management functions for the past twenty years. She brings a
practical approach to the application of leadership, change management
principles and coaching.
France started her own practice in 1998. This is
now focused on supporting individuals and teams to reach their goals and
move toward individual and team success, through coaching as well as
specific training programs in leadership development, performance
management, change management and coaching.
Amongst her key achievements, she developed and
facilitated processes for strategic and operational planning, including
the application of Appreciative Inquiry with large groups.
France is a change expert and coach, designing
plans and tools to facilitate change interventions (including the
communication aspects) in small and large system changes. She has
supported leaders in effective implementation of new enterprise-wide
technology solutions.
France is a Chartered Accountant and holds a
Master's degree in Organization Development from Pepperdine University
in Los Angeles, California. France also received an Honours Bachelor of
Administration at Brock University, St. Catharines, Ontario, and is
fluently bilingual.
Michel Lemieux
For the last twenty five years, Michel Lemieux has
been involved in the Human Resources Management field.
He has held various positions in the Human Resources
Department at Esso Canada, Domtar, and most recently as Vice President of
Human Resources for Wire Rope Industries Ltd. in Pointe-Claire, Québec.
He was also “Directeur d’Études” at Caron, Bélanger, Woods Gordon, Management
Consultants, in the “Productivité et Efficience Organisationnelle” group.
Michel is now an independent consultant in Organizational
Development and Human Resources Management.
His main field of interest focuses on organizational
change and employee involvement in a continuous improvement orientation.
In this context, his interventions are at the senior management team level
in developing the vision, values and structures to implement and support
change, as well as in the training and development of employees at all levels
to become more autonomous and involved in reaching the organization’s goal.
He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia
University, Loyola Campus, and also obtained a Certificate in Industrial
Relations from the Université de Montréal. He completed specialized training
in Organizational Development with National Training Laboratories (N.T.L.)
and the Executive Business Program at Queen’s University.
He is a member of the O.D. Network and of the Association
for Psychological Type.
Denise McLean
Denise McLean brings to Niagara programs her
twenty years of senior experience in personnel psychology and corporate
human resource management, as well as strong skills and experience in
group facilitation. Her expertise and background includes HR strategy,
assessment and measurement processes, workplace gender issues, reward
and recognition programs, succession management, and change management.
Denise is now a Senior Associate with the Niagara
Institute. For two years she held the full-time position of Director of
the Niagara Institute, responsible for overseeing its strategic
direction, programs, and operations. She has worked with several
Canadian organizations to design leadership interventions to meet their
needs.
At other stages in her career, Denise has
consulted internally and externally with senior managers on a range of
challenging issues. She worked for several years at Canadian National
Railway (CN) in Montreal – prior to, during and after its privatization.
At CN, her responsibilities included employee communications, culture
change, leadership and succession, process re-design, change management
for an SAP implementation, and organizational restructuring. Later, she
managed the Conference Board’s Centre of Excellence for Women’s
Advancement, helping Canadian employers effectively access and leverage
the leadership talents of women in the workforce. While working in the
federal public service, she designed and implemented selection and
promotion processes, and was a key contributor to the Canadian
Psychological Association’s Standards for Educational and Psychological
Testing.
Denise holds a Ph.D. degree in Psychology from the
University of Western Ontario, where she specialized in Educational
Psychology and in the development and application of assessment
instruments. She is an accomplished conference speaker and presenter,
and has authored both research-oriented and “best practice”
publications. Denise is certified by Conner Partners to deliver Daryl
Conner’s Optimizing Change program.
Peter D. Noble
Peter Noble has spent over thirty years as a manager,
consultant, trainer and human resources development specialist. His independent
practice serves the developmental needs of a broad range of organizations
by focusing on leadership skill building and establishing conditions in
which teamwork and collaboration are highly effective in meeting the continuous
improvement needs of the organization.
As a trainer and lecturer, Peter has designed and
delivered a wide range of high quality learning experiences for professionals
and organizational leaders, with an emphasis on self-awareness and the development
of personal skills as a basis for improving effectiveness in working with
others.
He holds a B.A. from Concordia University, and a Masters
Degree in Adult Education from the University of Toronto. Peter recently
served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association for Psychological
Type.
Those who have worked with Peter and participated
in his sessions have frequently commented on the high level of energy, strong
commitment, and professional and friendly manner he brings to the learning
and working setting.
Donna R. D. Porter
Donna Porter is an organization development specialist
focused on helping organizations work effectively with and through their
people to translate business strategy into successful outcomes.
Prior to entering the consulting field in 1994, Donna
held senior human resources positions within the financial services and
accounting sectors, working with Royal Trust, North American Trust, and
Deloitte & Touche. Her consulting experience has included assignments with
three of Canada’s major financial institutions, manufacturers, food products
companies, several health regulatory Colleges, a major Canadian hospital,
three major insurers, several professional services firms, the public sector
(federal and provincial), and small business. These assignments have focused
on leadership and team development, succession planning, performance management,
training program design and general human resources consulting. A further
area of concentration is assisting organizations with the human side of
mergers and acquisitions.
A Certified Management Consultant (CMC), Donna is
a graduate of the University of Western Ontario MBA program. She holds an
undergraduate degree in Honours History from the University of Toronto.
Arthur Ridgeway
Arthur Ridgeway, Ph.D., is a registered psychologist
who works as a consultant and facilitator for various client organizations,
government agencies, and educational institutions. Arthur specializes in
the design and implementation of strategic process interventions aimed at
effecting personal, professional and organizational change.
In addition to his consulting practice, he leads public
seminars and in-house programs on a wide range of topics including communication,
team effectiveness, leadership development and conflict resolution. He works
in the field of dispute resolution as a mediator/facilitator/trainer specializing
in resolving workplace conflicts and designing resolution systems.
Arthur is a senior associate with the Niagara Institute
and a senior trainer with the Justice Institute of B.C., Centre for Conflict
Resolution. He has worked as a co-chair/facilitator on the Union – Management
Partnering Best Practices Study Tour and the Performance Management Program
for the Conference Board of Canada.
Internationally, he is working as the expert representing
Canada at the APEC Alternative Dispute Resolution Executive Education Project
in Bangkok, Thailand and Mexico City, Mexico. In addition, he was a facilitator
in the Pacific Public Management Executive Program in Australia for the
Asia Development Bank Institute.
Arthur’s work is based on the premise that effective
change does not result from single events or quick fix solutions, but rather
on a planned approach toward professional and organizational development.
His work with groups is aimed at increasing individual understanding, altering
behavioural and organizational patterns, and developing commitment to implementing
lasting change.
His unique blend of skill, combined with the use of
practical life examples and humour, makes him a particularly effective leader
of professional and organizational development.
