Influencing Skills for Leaders™
Program Facilitators
Jenny Howe
Jenny has spent over 15 years as a consultant, counsellor
and executive coach. She specializes in the design and implementation of
executive development programs that focus on: leadership style, succession
planning, career transition management, team effectiveness and stress management.
Jenny holds the position of Head Coach at The Niagara Institute and for
the past nine years has managed an independent executive coaching practice.
Jenny’s clients come from a variety of sectors including
financial institutions, natural resource development companies, utilities,
media, not for profit, government and retail and real estate firms.
Based in the belief that “powerful insight leads to
effective action,” Jenny’s focus is on recognizing and affirming individual
talents and strengths, thereby strengthening both the individual and the
teams in which they operate. Such focus is supported by “gap analysis” –
a critical second step in the coaching process. It consists of the identification
and exploration of blind spots and weaknesses and leads to the development
of clear, realistic and achievable action plans.
Previously Jenny was in private practice in Toronto
in individual and couples counselling. She also held positions at the Wellness
Institute and the Psychotherapy Institute. In these positions she specialized
in conflict resolution, mediation, improved communication and anxiety and
stress.
Jenny’s educational background includes studies in
England, Canada and the U.S. She holds a Masters in Counselling Psychology
from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago and a Bachelor
of Science in Psychology from the University of Toronto. Her ongoing education
includes certification as an Executive Coach, qualification in mediation
processes and in the use of a variety of interpersonal and career development
assessment tools. Jenny is a member of the International Coaches Federation
and the American Association of Psychological Type.
