The Marguerite Cino Leadership Development Scholarship
at the Niagara Institute
The Niagara Institute is pleased to announce
a scholarship to honour the memory of Marguerite Cino.
Marguerite was a teacher, principal and Supervisor
of Staff Development at the Hamilton Board of Education prior to her retirement
in 1989. From 1989 until her death in December of 1999, Marguerite facilitated
programs at the Niagara Institute and was a vital player “behind the scenes”.
She brought extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of adult education,
tremendous attention to the details that make a difference and an interpersonal
style characterized by warmth and sensitivity. These qualities played an
important role in the creation of the “Niagara Experience”. Marguerite contributed
directly to the development of hundreds of Canadian Leaders, and it is this
contribution, that along with her contribution to the staff and associates,
that The Niagara Institute wishes to recognize.
The Marguerite Cino Scholarship will be awarded
annually to:
An educator working in a leadership position in
Ontario
A person who is recognized by his or her supervisor,
peers and reports, as someone who seeks to achieve by combining determination
and strength with collaboration and compassion.
