Influencing Skills for Leaders

Overview

Influencing Skills for Leaders will equip you with the skills necessary to achieve desired outcomes through effective coaching. This program will give you the skills and confidence you need to confront, develop, and influence others—including peers, associates, managers, customers, and direct reports.

Who Should Attend

Coaching is a constant and ongoing leadership activity. Whether shaping perspectives, providing feedback, or asserting influence, leaders conduct countless coaching conversations to achieve desired outcomes. This program will give you the skills required for effective coaching and influential leadership.

Features

  • Comprehensive individual feedback on your coaching and influencing strengths, based upon the perspective of those with whom you work;
  • Videotaped coaching exercises, with peer and coach reviews and feedback; and
  • The opportunity to write and practice your own coaching vignettes, using current situations from your workplace.

Outcomes

  • Skill in conducting difficult conversations;
  • Valuable insights into your preferred ways of thinking and responding, and knowledge of others’ preferences, which can increase the likelihood of a successful, shared outcome;
  • Ability to use active listening techniques to identify common interests and thus build agreement;
  • Skill in achieving commitment and buy-in rather than compliance from others at all levels of the organization;
  • Ability to produce consistently exceptional results through effective coaching techniques; and
  • Ability to deliver feedback directly and constructively.
