Influencing Skills for Women Leaders

Overview

Influencing Skills for Women Leaders is specifically designed for women who want to explore, practice, and develop their skills in effectively influencing others in order to achieve exceptional results and advance their careers. This intensive two-day program, rich in personal feedback, allows participants to stretch and develop beyond their current practice and to explore new ways to articulate vision, build buy-in, overcome common communication blocks, and truly lead, collaborate with, and challenge others at all levels of the organization.

Who Should Attend

This program is suited for women who are interested in the following:

  • exploring the similarities and differences that face both genders when they exert influence in organizations;
  • improving their skills in clearly articulating ideas and objectives;
  • influencing others with and without direct authority; and
  • enhancing their ability to develop, motivate, and confront when necessary.

  • Access to current Canadian data on what makes female leaders successful at influencing others and advancing their careers;
  • Comprehensive individual feedback from selected people in your workplace regarding your strengths and challenges in competencies such as influencing, getting results, credibility, and executive image;
  • Videotaped small group exercises with peer and Niagara Coach reviews and feedback;
  • Advanced influence practice using current situations from your own workplace; and
  • The opportunity to engage in frank, candid discussions within a supportive, professional environment.

  • The ability to achieve exceptional results through the application of a coaching model of conversation in order to engage others, provide feedback, assert influence, and shape perspectives;
  • Strengthened skills in sustaining a conversation of influence in the face of different perspectives and pressures;

  • A communication style that conveys a vision, a direction, alignment, and accountability;
  • The ability to gain sustainable commitment and buy-in; and
  • An increased awareness of your own and gender-specific ways of thinking and reading others’ thinking styles in order to increase the likelihood of a successful, shared outcome.
